The BVE Expo is the UK's largest broadcast and production technology event for professionals involved in all aspects of content creation and distribution. Around 15,000 visitors from more than 60 countries attend the three day expo, including our Producer Josh and Junior Editor James. They heard about the consumer take-up of 4K TV, and how HDR (High Dynamic Range) pictures will actually produce more of a noticeable result for end users.
Renowned Director of Photography Geoffrey Sentamu gave a talk about the importance of delivering a compelling story, rather than relying on the latest technology to dictate your film. That's something we can really identify with - content is king, and delivering the key messages in the most effective way is more important than the camera you're shooting on. You can watch a short highlights video of the event on YouTube.
We also attended the excellent Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC) Conference in Birmingham. Under the theme of 'Humanising Internal Communication', we heard some real insight from the country's top Internal Communication professionals. Every business has their own unique IC challenges, and the solutions we heard about demonstrated some incredible creativity, forward thinking and a real understanding of how to develop effective Internal Communication programmes. It's another area of Limehouse's expertise, so we're always eager to learn more to help our clients deliver the most effective IC content.
Finally, we paid a visit to the CIPD Learning and Development show which took place in May at London's Olympia exhibition centre. The event brought together some of the country's most innovative L&D practitioners, who kindly shared the benefits of their experience, the challenges they were working to overcome and their take on the changing L&D landscape. As a prolific producer of video content for L&D applications, we took away a wealth of information that will help our clients understand how to more effectively use video to train and develop their employees.
